Domain
Self-Similar Scaling
Purpose
A Domain is an area cultivated by the same Bases (similar to a Turf being an area cultivated by the same people). Domains offer a way to scale out a League just like Turfs allow a Base to scale to a larger size.
Intellectual properties need protection, physical properties need housekeeping, and digital properties require continuous maintenance.
The Domain is an area cultivated and protected by the same Bases in a League. It plays the same role as the Turf, only on a larger scale. We organize people to handle a Turf; we organize Bases to take care of a Domain. (And we organize Leagues to operate in a Realm.)
Notes
The caretaking and cultivation of a Domain include creating, growing, and maintaining that area. But the different responsibilities can be carried out across various Bases.
You will need some experience with people and their handling of a Turf before thinking about Bases and their responsibilities for a Domain.
Rules / Constraints
The Domain is an area of concern with a clearly defined boundary.
There is clarity of ownership and responsibilities regarding the Domain.
“Anything you build on a large scale or with intense passion invites chaos.”
