Purpose
Dot-voting is a popular and straightforward decision-making and prioritization tool often used in collaborative settings. In this method, participants are presented with multiple options, and each individual is allocated a set number of "dots" or votes, which they can distribute among the options. They can place one or more dots on any option they favor or feel strongly about. This ensures that each participant's preferences are visually represented. Once all votes are cast, the dots are tallied for each option. The option with the highest cumulative number of dots emerges as the preferred or chosen decision. Dot-voting promotes democratic participation and offers a visual representation of collective preferences, making it easier to pinpoint areas of group consensus or contention.
