Purpose

We measure in order to know. Without measures and metrics, we don’t know where we are and whether we’re going in the right direction. Measures and metrics come in all shapes and sizes and it’s important to understand how to measure our progress toward our goals.

Notes

In a healthy business, you would probably use metrics of all five types.
